I worked at KBD and it was, without a doubt, the most toxic and professionally damaging experience of my career. The company is led unethically, with a culture that fosters anxiety and distrust.
Specifically:
Toxic Environment: The day-to-day work environment was consistently negative, characterized by micromanagement, public criticism, lack of support, and high turnover.
Unethical Leadership: The leadership's behavior was deeply concerning. Lack of transparency, inconsistent policies, favoritism, and a bunch of shifting job roles with no KPI's or ways to 'win'.
Shady Practices: I witnessed practices that I considered highly questionable. For example, illegal lay-offs of employees during maternity leave, covering an employee's student loans for continued employment, and weird relationships within management. It felt ick.
I strongly advise anyone considering employment at KBD to look elsewhere. The potential for professional growth is overshadowed by the deeply negative and unethical work environment. I have never walked from a company with absolutely nothing to show that I was actually proud of.
