Dream Job vs. Nightmare

Pros

Beautiful office. Ideally, should be a great opportunity.

Cons

Environment is gossipy/catty. Hard to do your job when there's a constant fear of being verbally attacked (wrongly) by management; or thrown under the bus by someone afraid of being on the receiving end of the verbal attack. Owner has a lot to learn about managing people.

Pros

Beautiful office, a great concept and product. Something I would want to represent; but the reality is not what it appears.

Cons

I was told by the DOS that anyone there creating drama or gossip would stick out like a sore thumb. Great, I like to work, not play games. It seems though, the Publisher/Editor in Chief promotes an atmosphere of drama and hate. After being verbally attacked by Katrina in a managers meeting, where there were 6 persons all managers, twisting every word I had said I felt very abused and humiliated. I was told that I was not fitting in with their culture. Funny, I had not had much time or opportunity to even try. It appears that there has not been a sales rep in place for Sugar Land for almost two years. I learned for another past rep there, that they have gone through 6 employees in 6 months.

Pros

Fridays off early (in rotation with others) after you hit 90 days Opportunities to leave the office and get away 1 person can bring a dog on Fridays.

Cons

The owner is so superficial and rude while constantly making comments about people's weight, image, etc. The management isn't really "management" it's very unorganized and when you are told to do something make sure you note who told you to and when bc the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing and you'll be blamed for something you were told to do. If you're blonde you have a better chance of the owner, Katrina liking you just for being blonde. Also applies if you're skinny. Don't be fooled by the "fun" dress up days or theme days. It's only for a quick picture to post on social media to pose as a fun company and never is actually "fun" but make sure you humor Katrina by telling her how much you love her costume or you'll quickly become one that isn't liked. The turn over is so ridiculous and should be a given as to why you shouldn't work for them. They make excuses and lie to people when asked about former employees no longer being there. No matter what you do, it's not and will not be good enough. Save your sanity and time by not applying or working here. A promotion to them is a title change with more work but not a pay increase. Employees are replaceable and treated as so. Employees are their little puppet under their control until your puppet strings break and can't take it anymore. Everyone in the building knows your business before you even do. The managers will tell everyone and act like they didn't.
