Pros

Great location. Other employees were really nice. Some good work events. One partner (Mike) is brilliant and is the only partner in the audit department with any kind of people skills.

Cons

Some individuals will step on as many heads as they can in order to get to the top. Horrible bullying culture has arisen over the past few years, employees crying almost became normal day-to-day. The two Managers are the worst for bullying which creates a horrific atmosphere. I had been there around 2 years and saw more than 20 people leave the company. No confidentiality, everyone knows how much each other is payed which creates friction and gossip. The Managing Partner sent an email last year asking people to vote if they would like a Christmas bonus, only to see when you try and click 'yes', the button would move to another part of the screen . . . a prank, this would've been funny if we actually received a bonus . . . we didn't. The list could go on . . . .

Pros

Central Manchester location Accessible to public transport Flexi hours

Cons

Below market average for salary. No recognition for hard work. Partners shout at and speak down to staff in front of their colleagues. Managers participate and and even instigate office gossip. Bullying Culture. Overworked, undervalued and underpaid. People crying is a regular occurrence. Managers are not professional. If a partner or a manager does not like you, you will know about it, they have made many people feel isolated. There is no internal training for development of less senior people. Managers are quick to call out and be unkind about people that are struggling behind their back rather than help them. Unfair pay structure, hard work and experience gets you nowhere unless you have passed exams. Not worth the stress or the tears. Understaffed and High employee turnover. Quite a bleak atmosphere in general.
