Pros

- Founders are pretty firm in not moving in the direction of a recruitment agency - Work from home set up

Cons

- Almost 85-90% of employees came from agency so it is very hard to deviate from the agency mindset. - Leaders and managers will brainwash you into thinking that they are not an agency, but ultimately the way most of them work, and manage employees, felt like you are in an agency. - Most of the leadership team are old colleagues/friends with the bosses for many years - It is always quantity>quality, no hires is fine as long as you get the numbers across to client. You have managers knocking on your door on a daily basis, micromanaging you and asking why you don't have any submissions. - Your work at Kinetik will be limited to mostly pure sourcing and screening, there is no room for you to learn and you are doing the same thing over and over again. - Expect backstabbing to happen, especially senior members who would like to cover themselves. Backstabbing, favoritism, and fake-it-till-you-make-it is the only way to get promoted. - HR/admin is poor in Kinetik with no experienced HR person running the show. There is no concrete SOP for many things and it is shocking to see the lack of structure after 2 years of business - Kinetik expect you to utilize all your leaves, but you will need to work harder the week before your leave. You will be asked by managers to work harder to compensate for the leave your are taking. (So what's the point of taking annual leaves?)

Firstly we appreciate your feedback and we welcome all forms whether positive or negative. All we can say is we are sorry you feel the way you do regarding certain aspects to of the business. Since launching we have worked very hard to create a fair, well organised internal structure to support the scale of growth we have experienced. We acknowledge and regret we haven’t been able to please everyone, though we do genuinely strive to. We’d actually like to address a few of your points, however: - Your claim that 85-90% of our team is from an agency is factually incorrect. A quick scan through LinkedIn will highlight 10 of our staff are from an agency background, which is less than 30% as it stands. Furthermore, 2 of our 5 Manager level staff are from an RPO and in-house ‘Talent Acquisition’ background. We have an extremely diverse workforce from across the recruitment sector and beyond. We are also committed to regular graduate intake. So the idea our hiring is skewed towards ex-agency staff and this is somehow a reflection of our ‘agency mindset’ is simply untrue. - For a business of our size and sector, we actually have a relatively, very low staff turn over rate of less than 15% versus standard industry levels, so we don’t feel this is an accurate observation either, based on clear data points in this area. - In terms of HR process, we absolutely acknowledge the importance of clear policies, which is why we have created the Employee Handbook and have both weekly 1-2-1s in place along with Q appraisals, as examples, to keep us in touch with our people. As a business that is less than 2 years old, clearly there is work in progress and this will be an area we will continue to look at closely. - In terms of the repetitive nature of work you refer to, clearly sourcing and screening is a significant part of the function, especially in the early stages! However, there are extensive opportunities to diversify activity across the full scope of TA operations, though this often depends on the client scope of work and seniority of the team member. That said, we will bear some of your your observations in mind with a view to driving continuous improvement. We also wish you all the best and thank you for your support of Kinetik during the time you were with us. Best regards Sam Baxendale, CEO & Cofounder

Pros

- Great work-life balance. There's a clear separation between work and personal life whereby you don't get bothered with work after working hours and on the weekends. - Great people. The people in the company are an amazing bunch of personalities that are constantly open for a chat and discussion. They're always there to help and give advice. - Remote work. We work remotely and it's great especially during the pandemic but we also do have daily catch ups with our colleagues and managers through video calls which allows us to have constant communication with one another. Post pandemic, we've also had a couple of catch up and fitness sessions as a group which was great. - Career progression. I believe one of the best things about the company is that there is a great opportunity to progress in a career sense as with quarterly reviews I'm able to discuss with my manager my career path and what I need to do to improve and progress.

Cons

There's no real downside to working here

We welcome all feedback either positive or negative and we are sorry you feel this way. We are working very hard to develop our leadership team and ensure a fair and positive employee experience for everyone. Naturally in the course of growing so quickly, we may encounter challenges along the way. We have introduced weekly 1-2-1s and quarterly appraisals to hopefully address any individual frustrations. We take any such concerns very seriously and would take steps to address if made aware. We accept and regret the fact we haven’t pleased everyone as part of this journey and will continue to work on feedback cycles and continuous improvement in response. Thankyou, Sam Baxendale
