Management, unfortunately, is where they seem to faulter drastically. There's no real management training that is done there. Promotions are offered to those people that "smooch hind quarters" the best as opposed to the more qualified individual. Supervisors and managers are promoted based on a "what have you done for ME lately" scale and not the "what have you done for the company" approach that respectable brands follow. So the only people that flourish there are those that care little about the company and more about the supervisor/manager that they have to cater to. Being intelligent and/or thinking rationally isn't a trait that they are looking for in potential candidates. They do an incredible amount of shady things in regards to their partners but I guess that just comes with being in business period.
