Pros

Kinnek fosters a growing and learning environment. The CEO's are receptive to ideas and opinions. The company is transparent in many ways conventional companies are not. A main focus of HR is to make this the best place to work (which I think it already is).

Cons

Nothing strongly comes to mind, but like any startup there is some uncertainty to longterm outlook.

Transparent, mission-driven, cares about people

Pros

Kinnek cares about people. Ever since I've been here, they have had a VP of People. In fact, they hired a People Leader as one of their first 10 hires, which is extremely rare for an early-stage startup. The leadership makes you feel like you're a part of the company, a part of the journey, you're not just a cog in the machine- there is a lot of transparency (sometimes I don't really know what to do with it!)- there are all-hands meetings, Leadership team AMAs where you can ask anonymous questions, and loads of communications in various forms from the Leadership. All the data about how the company is performing is all available via SQL and other analytics tools- it's all there, if you're so inclined to take a look. You get updates from the founders about every board meeting they have, too. One of the coolest things about Kinnek is that people here care about what we're working on. They care about the mission of the company (to be the champion for Small Businesses and help them find the best suppliers), and people here act like they are trying to build something bigger than themselves. It's pretty cool to be a part of.

Cons

It's an early stage startup, so there are always ups and downs, and everyone certainly has a lot of responsibility here. I find it pretty cool compared to my old job where I was treated like a number in a spreadsheet, and had no impact on the business- but I can say that if you're not into being at an early stage company, and don't wanna be a part of the learnings and the growth that go along with being a small company, then you may not like Kinnek. If you want to be at a place that treats you with respect and gives you a great learning experience with as much transparency and people-awareness as you can expect from a startup, then this is definitely the place for you.

Amazing people and work environment to tackle a massive opportunity

Pros

Kinnek is an awesome place to work. We’re working hard to solve the challenging but rewarding massive market opportunity of helping small businesses with purchasing. Unlike many jobs, it’s actually enjoyable to come to work each day. The people are incredibly smart, fun to be around and driven. It's a close knit group which allows things to be kept light while still being very productive. The fairly small team allows each employee to clearly see the difference their making towards the company’s success. Employee happiness is very important to leadership which is backed by unlimited PTO, great snacks and team events.

Cons

Nothing negative to say about working at Kinnek. Some may view the standard challenges that face a startup trying to tackle an enormous market as a con but really it’s an exciting opportunity to make a difference and be part of something great.
