Working in property management can be rewarding, but the constant last-minute corporate visits are exhausting. The pressure they put on onsite teams—especially when we’re already dealing with heavy workloads and trying to stabilize a new property—is unrealistic. It often feels like they expect miracles overnight, without considering what the team has been navigating or the challenges the property has been facing. This past month at my new site has been especially tough. I’ve been pushing through, catching up on issues left behind, and doing my best to get the community on track. But the lack of notice, support, and understanding from upper management makes the job way more stressful than it needs to be. I take pride in my work and I give my all, but corporate needs to recognize the reality of onsite operations. More communication, more realistic expectations, and more support would make a world of difference.
