Pros

-Strong opportunities for career growth and professional development. -Mission-driven work that makes a real difference in the community. KANA is committed to serving and uplifting the people of Kodiak Island. -Supportive leadership that invests in employees, providing opportunities for training, advancement, and skill-building. -A collaborative and passionate team that cares deeply about the work we do. -Competitive benefits and a strong focus on employee well-being.

Cons

-Being in remote/rural Alaska presents unique challenges, including a limited local workforce and the need to recruit talent from outside the region. -Change takes time, and as the organization evolves, there are growing pains that come with shifting processes and adapting to new ways of working. -Like any nonprofit, balancing mission-driven work with operational and financial realities can be challenging.

Pros

There are some good core benefits, PTO and 401 are good.

Cons

The CEO and executive leadership team has effective experience failure which is due to long time leadership that was corrupt and poorly mentored by the previous CEO (AT). The board has some significant issues as well due to a lack of vison and accountability. The group does not seek to engage leaders from other areas and sectors as they are very much a secret society type network. No vision, no executive meeting notes, no goals. Just lots of whitewashed meetings with no mission or vision on how to achieve their stated goals of "improving the lives of the people they serve".
