Pros
-The products and formulations are mostly 'clean' and the company is very generous with gratis. -Starting salary is pretty good money and benefits are solid, you barely pay anything out of pocket. -You get to be pretty hands on with projects as the teams are lean, but take that for literally what it means - long hours, lots of work, no work life balance and a constant need to be online.
Cons
-It's easy to mistake in the interviewing process "A lean team means so much opportunity here to be hands-on, and they have a best selling cleanser at Sephora! They must be great!” with the reality of "This company is putting out fires all day with no real end in sight and have no stable leadership whatsoever." -Management is all over the place, just look at the turnover rate. It’s also an office of mostly females, which can get extremely catty at times when stress boils over. -There's no HR so you can't give feedback and expect it to be taken seriously. Don’t bother being vocal, it will only effect you negatively. -If you try to create a work-life balance for yourself, it's seen as not being dedicated to your work. Working on paid vacation days is expected. -The owners change direction every 6 months and it’s not sustainable. They will not take advice from employees and once they don't see eye to eye, the owners kick those employees to the curb and move on in search of anyone who will be complaisant at all angles.
