Pros

Warm and welcoming office and staff. Most staff are very passionate about the mission, which makes it you feel like you have a sense of purpose and comraderie. Despite the cons, even people who leave end up returning. The clients are worth it. Relaxed work environment.

Cons

Under-funded and under-resourced so employees are stretched super thin. They say pay is competitive, but it is on the lower end. Like most non-profits, there's little opportunity for advancement within the agency. Most people are working more than 40 hours/week. Many therapists spend 40 hours dealing with serious childhood trauma issues, only to have to work a second job just to pay their rent. Potential for burnout is significant.
