Pros

making video games occasional bonuses somewhat flexible hours mostly good people to work with, including middle management

Cons

CEO is a wolf in sheep's clothing and has a history of stringing people along. Low salaries. Making a good product is not the goal and it felt as though our projects were being deliberately sabotaged. Kuma Games exists for the singular purpose of creating the CEO's vision, regardless of whether or not it's a good or viable idea. When warning that an idea is bad/won't work/can't be done on time, we were told to do it anyway and then blamed for its failure. Upper management has no interest in creativity from employees or requests from the fan base. Any effort by employees above and beyond job requirements is unnoticed and unappreciated. Games are free-to-play on PC and as such there is no vehicle in place to ensure any minimum level of quality. Games are released before they are done and never updated or polished. After more than 6 years of employment I was part of a large layoff that resulted from financial difficulties. Shortly thereafter our salaries were handed out as bonuses to those newer employees who remained. Not allowed to use recent projects in portfolios. Older projects are so bad, we don't want to use them.

Pros

Growth is good. Most people are great to work with. Looks good on Resume. Good benefits.

Cons

Upper management is rude and do not value their employees at all. Work endlessly on great products that never leave the office. No organization. Get your experience and leave. Everything is a secret.
