Pros

Working as a private tutor is very flexible, fits almost any schedule, pays well, and is a fun way to get out there and meet new people. Working for LA Tutors 123 makes this easier, as they find students for you, and setup the first meeting, so all you have to worry about is the tutoring. They deal with the SAT, GMAT, MCAT, LSAT, ACT, Math, Science, etc. They also offer small classes for the CSET and CBEST. I have taught, through them, mostly High School, some Middle School and a little College.

Cons

It's by no means a full time position. You typically get 2-3 clients at a time, which is not enough to live off of, but definitely a great way to help pay the bills. Also, when you get a call about a new student you need to respond quickly, before the student moves on to another tutor.

Much better managed than most tutoring companies, and they treat their employees well.

Cons

None that I can think of.

Pros

Great talent to work alongside. People are willing to help with clients if someone needs a substitute, and the management team is excellent with correspondence.

Cons

Schedule conflicts at time, especially during busy seasons
