Pros

You learn how to sell. Most of the properties are struggling mid majors that fans do not really care much about. Tickets are very hard to sell so you end up good at making pitches and prospecting. Free stuff - mostly giveaway Ts and stuff. Sometimes your Ath Dept will give you stuff but other than that do not get too excited. Great stepping stone to learn how to sell and then bolt for a better job.

Cons

Upper management is so disconnected from the bottom level of the company that it is laughable. Training is a joke and employees are treated like children. The money is terrible, especially if you are at a small property. GM leadership depends on the individual. Manager was not good and never set goals or discussed future opportunities. If you are truly set on working in college athletics sales then this is not the worst place to start. Be prepared to average less than a thousand dollars a month and to cold call people who do not want to talk to you.

Pros

None whatsoever that I can think of.

Cons

Pay is abysmal. $10 hourly + pathetic commission. As a full time sales rep I made barely above poverty level. On top of that, I had to pay for my own parking and often my own clothes. Manager micromanaged me to death and accused me of lying about work ethic on multiple occasions despite being top sales rep at the property. You don’t even get tickets to the events you’re selling.

Pros

Taught me what I didn't want to do and who I didn't want to be like.

Cons

Management plays favorites. Low pay for hard work. Hit your numbers and you'll still get crap when others who didn't hit numbers don't get crap. Manager always went against his own office rules. Lied to about pay in my interview! Manager will help others more than you even if you ask for help. The tools to be more succesful won't be given to you because he'll forget about you after you ask. Don't worry, he'll help others though and get mad at you for missing a goal when he forgot to do something. Even when you hit your numbers you will get crap and others who didn't hit numbers won't. Runs around hitting desk, yelling, and bouncing ball after telling Sales Reps they can't. Treated like children in grade school!!
