Pros

Their hearts are in the right place.

Cons

A direct quote from the CFO: “How we operate is a direct reflection of the people we serve.” I do not see this as a positive statement, but it is an accurate statement. Dysfunction is the flavor of the day, and the month and the year. And the vast majority of the employees accept this as “business as usual”. Don’t expect to improve processes or institute any kind of substantial changes to policy or procedures. And for that matter, don’t expect too much adherence to policies and procedures. All that falls by the wayside in the name of getting patients in the door. There are way too many people on the payroll who take the concept of “Not for Profit” a wee bit too literally. Too many bleeding hearts who don’t grasp the need to “turn a profit” so you can continue to further the mission. Livengrin is without question the most toxic environment I’ve ever worked in. And accountability is a joke. The patterns that are common between addicts and the loved-ones who enable their behaviors are the same patterns you’ll see here when it comes to dealing with people who are incompetent or people who flat-out steal from the organization. This environment is only for those who are touched by addiction and who can embrace all the challenges that come with working inside that world. That's because those people are, for the most part, enablers and will overlook the deficiencies of others for a halfway decent sob-story. Do not look to work here if you embrace the concepts of personal responsibility and/or professional collaboration and/or accountability in the workplace. There are too many little fiefdoms that will isolate themselves from the rest of the organization and refuse to share information or the burden of trying to manage a facility like this as an actual team. Genuine efforts to improve processes will be met with resistance and flat-out refusal. Only apply to Livengrin if you want dysfunction and frustration to be a regular part of your workday.

Pros

Dedicated Staff who suffer thru the abuse

Cons

Was hope for a turnaround after new CEO and HR came on board, but it is just more of the same. Now instead of layoffs, they are arbitrarily firing people, then fighting their unemployment. HR recently fired a person undergoing chemo. They lecture and treat recovery, but are heartless and do not practice the principles of recovery. Line staff makes barely above minimum wage, morale at an all time low . Mid managers hide in theirr office all day, Ptient care is sufferung, lectures have not been updated in 8 years.Hopefully RCA either buys them out out buries them by competition

Pros

Free lunch, helping patients, some employees have right intentions

Cons

A highly dysfunctional organization clinically and administratively. Within the past year this company hired a temporary CEO to come in and “revamp” the system. The end result was: keep the most senior staff (majority of which happen to be the least progressive and least educated) and terminate many licensed, Masters-level clinicians. It should be noted many of the barriers to making this company more effective are the overpaid and underworked senior staff that have been at the organization for years. The work environment is hostile and makes life as a clinician exceptionally taxing. The dysfunction is pervasive and sadly, perpetual at Livengrin.
