Pros

The reason anyone works for this company is because of the strong bonds within the staff on the shop floor. We spend 10 hours a day together and sometime the only thing pulling you through the dirt is the person sitting across from you.

Cons

The people who run the business. Having recently been taken over by LSL, Lauristons have a don't mess with us attitude. I young lady recently complained of assault within the work place from a Director and was a week later sacked as the trust had broken down between the company and her. Second to this a former manager of a branch made bullying and harassment claims about the managing director of the company only to be sacked 4 weeks later for insubordination. Recently an employ was given a promotion to a senior position that she had been asking for well over 9 months. She got it because the manger had been sacked for "insubordination" and it suited the company, she was told she would have extra duties but she would not be getting the extra benefits such as salary till 4 months later because the budget would not allow for it. Another female employee who was an administrator had worked tirelessly for 18 months only to be turned down for a pay rise after she was promoted because the managing director thought she did nothing and he didn't like her. If she did nothing why promote her to head of sales administration? The directors have worked together for so long that they slate each other off being their backs and yet stick together when it suits them. The sales managers recruitment policy is if they look hot employ them, it was only yesterday that he said out loud in the front office that he had found a great manger for one of the branches but the only problem was he was black. Truly horrific! The company has less than 25% staff retention on an annual basis and should you be a woman working there you have little chance of survival.

Pros

Nothing, bad management, do not value staff, a very high turn over, staff gets told they are useless at their job, do not bring enough money in.

Cons

Management is full of liars. No wonder they are keep loosing staff all the time. Their managers lie to recruit staff, tell them their bonus will be uncapped no such thing, seems like family run business where I.e. Every one related in management, so they look out for one another.

Pros

People I worked with were lovely, highly qualified and too good to work there. Boss was nice, when she was there.

Cons

No clear 'supervisor' roles. Poor pay. HR don't seem to have a clue about their own policies and procedures. I have never worked for a company so disorganised. Too many managers and people who think they are managers running a small team. Do not listen to ideas and think very highly of themselves. No career progression (although advised in interview there would be) Had to work weekends, no compensation for this.
