Pros

The company is fast paced meaning there is alot of opportunity to learn, grow and develop skills as well as innovate. The work so far has achieved extremely promising results which means a very promising future. The culture is one of the best I have ever worked in, as it is warm and friendly, and open. In particular the CEO is one of the most down to earth and empathetic individuals, which really helps offset some of the challenges that can come from working in a fast paced environment. The management also take great care to listen to feedback and act on it very fast, not just a place where feedback is just a tickbox exercise. It's also a multidisciplinary place where you are exposed to various fields from molecular biology, protein and cell-based science as well as to tech and software. There is so much to learn and a place that suits inquisitive minds. From a management point of view, alot has changed, new hires and team members which makes it a much more organised and structured place to work with clear company and team goals that stretch annually, and company direction for a few years ahead.

Cons

The company is fast paced, as would any biotech startup be. Sometimes planned work has to be de-prioritised for other urgent work that can be somewhat unexpected. There is alot to learn and the fast pace means sometimes managing your own work and priorities more than a larger organisation, but this is only a con if you're uncomfortable doing that. Management is mostly male and white, but this is more due to the availability of individuals with the right experience from a diverse background, who would also want to work here.
