Pros

I met a few wonderful people.

Cons

Company is the opposite of employee-centric. They will slot you into positions you did not apply for. Additionally, leadership is not interested in solving issues with workload distribution. It is very common to be completing the work of multiple people without any type of compensation.

Small company with growing pains

Pros

Met some great people here. Great health insurance. Work-life balance is good. Retirement plan with ESOP is notable.

Cons

The great people left. Poor management with lack of transparency. Skimpy on employee investment. Boxed in within your role. Lower-than-average salary. Lack of diversity. Took 2 years to get my clearance. Not exposed to clients and strict on the dress code. Pre-Covid they were vehemently against telework. Felt like they forgot I was working for them.

Cliquey with non-competitive pay

Pros

Decent health insurance, hybrid/remote work depending on contract, CEO is easy to talk to

Cons

Lafayette Group does not pay a competitive rate to most of their employees. Upper management is comprised almost completely of former colleagues from Booz Allen Hamilton. Many of their “support” contracts are essentially professional note taking. It is very difficult to see opportunities for growth or promotion. Annual pay raises and bonuses have been borderline offensive every year (particularly with inflation as it was in 2023). As with most government contracting, these are long term contracts and can become monotonous.
