Not recommended if you are talented with better opportunities at hand
Pros
Acceptable salary, good job security, some departments have clean work and good working conditions. try to get posted in records, admin,education or C&I if you ever get selected for it. but its an awesome place to work if you have powerful political connections or if you have a devious mind and can create good connections with property dealers and a particular cohort of white collar theifs working in upper management.
Cons
The managment problems in this organization spring from visionless leadership. LDA is essentially ruled by deputationists who naturally hold short term projects and reforms dearer than structural ones. Still things are getting better but for employees welfare & benefits, i dont see any positive intent from the management. You will have to manage accomodation and transport from the salary that you get, there are no fringe benefits (unless ur from an influential family and have powerful contacts in bureaucracy or ruling party) moreover, you will have to toil hard to get the earned leaves approved when you want them. (forget the earned leaves) .same goes for the medical facility that youre entitled to. (forget the medical facility). Lack of behavioral training is apparant in how the superiors interact with us and vice versa. Organization is not even statutorily bound to train its employees properly so that they can be made aware of rules & regulations that govern the work process. the whole organization is standing on informal word of mouth sort of training given by seniors to juniors in order to make em useful. other things you have to pick up yourself while working here, the seniors wouldnt be very supportive because the work pressure is usually immense and they cant help u out at the cost of their worK.
