Unethical Managers

Pros

Heath insurance and benefits are great

Cons

Upper management uses employees to spy and tell on their coworkers and supervisors. They also record phone calls and check cameras to spy on employees as well. How sad is that?!

Pros

This is all based on my experience working in the IT department. Excellent work/life balance when it comes to scheduling. If something personal were to come up they will 100% work with you on if you need time off or to rework your schedule. Hybrid/Remote environment. Not a lot of micromanaging Great office space with adjustable standing desks and ergonomic chairs. They provide equipment to work from home if needed. Awesome health insurance and benefits. Great to start out in IT

Cons

Poor communication between IT teams. Mainly from the Sr. staff. A lot of the time the help desk and field team have to wait for long periods of time to get simple responses back from Sr. staff on other teams. Some of the Sr. Staff have their teams messenger on mute purposely to avoid things as they relied on a single person to do everything for them. And since that person has moved on to a different team the lack of support has gotten worse. They claim to promote internally but that's seldom the case. If you are looking to grow in this company you will most likely have to be friends with the higher-ups or leave to another company and come back when you gain enough experience. The escalation process is a joke. No one does any discovery and they are quick to pass it on saying it's not their job to fix it. So be prepared to get a ticket thrown back to you with a note in it. Pay can be an issue. So negotiate wisely. And don't be surprised if someone with less experience than you make more than you. The IT department as a whole is going through a restructuring so take that for what you will. Things are rough but hopefully, they are getting worked out.

High turnover - for good reason

Pros

Lots of vacation time, a 401k and good health insurance.

Cons

There is a very unprofessional work environment at the branch level and new policies and computer systems are constantly being rolled out without being fully tested first. Half of the people at this company don't do any work and spend their time doing whatever they feel like without ever getting punished. The other half are very hard workers that end up getting stuck with all the extra work.
