Pros

Relaxed and casual work space, very young for the most part. Hire lots right out of school, takes a long time to build up any real vacation time, its PTO so it takes 2 years to get a single week of vacation, but once there for about 5 years it starts to add up much faster.

Cons

Cheap in lots of respects, starting salary are low, used to have decent profit sharing but that got less and less ironically as they made more. Family owned who all serve on the board but none of them actually work or understand the business and are very entitles when you meet and talk to them, as they talk down to you. A few ignorant managers in the HR and IT departments for which they try to squeeze unprofessional roles that were never expressed at anytime when interviewing and dont at all jive with the skillset applied for. Employees being asked to do maintenance, clean the kitchen and fridges...etc with an HR person who says many unprofessional and borderline racist comments. A general sometimes dishonest approach with truthfulness about the company's well being and standing, resulting on job cuts as a way to save money and reassigning that persons responsibilities to others that aren't qualified for them, as mentioned above. Lots of employee turnover for such a small workforce, relying on college students working for free in support positions.

Pros

*thoughtful market research and initial understanding of (student) needs *comprehensive national product with thorough editing, crafted by the input of teachers, administrators, content experts, students, etc. *innovative use of learning management platforms ; diverse tangential offerings *satisfactory place to intern ; good first exposure to office work *plentiful tasks ; full work day *fair benefits plan *generous community footprint & charity efforts *plentiful snacks *nice windows / newer facility *some understanding direct supervisors *good CEO leadership helps company endure economic downturns

Cons

*suspect state customization efforts ( seemed less about student needs and more about exclusively profit ) *unpleasant layer of management between direct supervisors and CEO (brings a sense of lean staffing and unreasonable expectations) *mediocre pay *insidious company expansion into new markets; some sales seem based on title reputation instead of product quality *little opportunity for advancement ; very bad training *eroding family atmosphere *poor work-life balance; overtime implied, often with little reward *unclear workflow; bad sense of priorities *unsteady project management; abandoned or rushed work *superficial attempts to improve company culture (ignoring long-term issues) *poor communication (both at the local office between departments and externally between the company and vendors) *bad understanding of hybrid work

Pros

Casual work environment, flex time

Cons

There really is not much room for growth, upper management doesn't care about employees, poor communication between upper management and employees, boring work, negative atmosphere, lack of proper training, pay isn't that great, unpaid overtime is expected due to unrealistic deadlines
