Pros

All of the great training you typically expect from a larger agency but with a fantastic commission structure and achievable incentives. Given LAW Absolute is privately owned there is no red tape so change can be implemented more readily. The working hours are the best you will find in any recruitment agency as are some of the people. I enjoyed my time working there and only left because I decided to make a move overseas.

Cons

Should make more of a song and dance about the healthcare cover on offer after an employee completes their first 12 months in the business as it's pretty good but when I worked there not many people knew about this.

Pros

There are some genuinely superb people at LAW Absolute. The support staff, HR, and the vast majority of consultants are good people and very fun to be around. I miss a high proportion of them. The company manages to appear enticing enough to keep on hiring excellent junior consultants with no experience, so they must be doing something right on this front; keeping them is another question entirely. The company punches above its weight with thought leadership thanks to junior consultants who are given far too much responsibility but perform admirably.

Cons

The leadership at the company is, for the most part, woeful. Only two of the Directors at the company actually manage (one in local government and the other on private practice locums) and this probably accounts for such a high rate of turnover in junior consultants. The CEO of LAW Absolute can also be quite the charlatan who often relies on subordinates to supply her with basic market information and, in extreme cases, to win business pitches. She means well but is frankly uninspiring. The ownership maintain several other business interests, which is not in itself a problem; returning once a week to sit in for four hours and ask where everyone's billings were up to is far more of a problem. Again, they aren't bad people but it seems somewhat like they use the company as a cash cow. The computer system is awful. The company has a turnover problem. This is just a sad truth. During my time - only seven months - the company sacked three consultants and three resigned. From my understanding this is a fairly consistent rate at LAW Absolute, and to provide some context this is in a business of 20-25 people. Finally, the company seemingly permits the bullying of resourcing staff. There is one particular consultant who has consistently been accused of this and no repercussions seem to have taken place. It's repugnant.

Pros

Fantastic hours, business doesn't subscribe to bodies on seats theory. Offices in a pleasant location. Good incentive programme and good commission structure if you are a temp consultant.

Cons

Lack of leadership vision, no clear business strategy. Consistent change in direction, goals and motivations. Lack of career progression or pathway to progression on offer. Different internal policies and rules apply to different employees. Not many senior or experienced employees and management do not lead by example. Exceptionally high staff turnover, lack of communication to the business as to why turnover so high.
