Pros

Working at Layla has changed my thoughts around what a workplace should be like: warm, supportive, challenging, encouraging, insightful, personable, and so much more! I have loved working here so far and would recommend it to anybody. I feel so grateful to be a part of their community. The whole management and operations team is LOVELY!

Cons

The only con I could think of was not getting to see all of my wonderful coworkers in-person more often. However, Layla does the best job at keeping everyone connected by hosting work events, weekly team check ins, and always just being a message away!

Pros

Genuinely client-first: Layla puts people at the heart of every decision, going above and beyond to ensure Canadians receive the best possible care—even if that care is outside Layla. Sustainable, mission-aligned growth: The company prioritizes steady, thoughtful expansion that never compromises on the consistency or quality of its services. Supportive of professional growth: Team members are actively encouraged in their development, with recognition, feedback, and rewards aligned to real contributions and performance. Founder-led with purpose: The leadership team is very values-driven and committed to making a lasting, positive impact on the Canadian mental healthcare landscape.

Cons

Short-term focus over long-term innovation: Like any scrappy startup we need to focus much more on short term product engineering vs more interesting long term projects or experimental R&D. (But we hope to get more breathing room for that in 2026!) Still maturing its tech operations: In many aspects of its organization Layla has very well developed policies and procedures, but we are still in the process of setting up those best practices for security and engineering. I expect us to be in a much strong position here by the end of 2025.
