Pros

The Co-founder and Design Head is an amazing person/ senior. One will have all the help and guidance they need work wise and in general too from him. There’s a lot of nice exposure work wise and he makes sure we learn and understand. Learning Saturdays platform is a great initiative Fun evening meetings Good office timings

Cons

The founder is an avid follower of ‘Jeevan Vidya’ a practise of harmonious thinking. He forces the same upon all the people working there, even when they’re extremely uncomfortable with it He is often seen saying things like ‘now you’re coming to me on your knees’ or ‘change your zoom logo or you won’t get your salary’ to employees You’re made to sing the prayer, oath, HR policies every single day. You’re made to clock in your washroom timings in Clockify (a tracking platform) as well which they continuously monitor They make you share all social media posts of the company on your own personal accounts. We are made to send screenshots of our Instagram archives to them. They have a proper point system for it. They force you to do it even if you disagree. This is highly crossing personal boundaries. Employees here are not allowed to meet each other after work. Employees are not even allowed to make whatsapp groups with one another The founder does not appreciate and encourage this. Even though what we do outside the office premises is none of his business Don’t try asking for a pay raise even though you totally deserve it, cause you ain’t getting one. They will talk you out of it and convince you that you need to do more. In all, you will be maimed. Oh and lastly, the founder will hold a grudge against you because you put down your papers and even avoid/ stop talking to you. Lastly, HR head is extremely incompetent, lazy and does not get your last procedures done without emailing 50 times and getting the founders involved. Have fun working, hahaa

We are glad that our mentor could provide you with a learning experience and guidance. That has always been any of our mentors' endeavors - to make our teammates learn and understand, to make their lives better. Our entire culture - from Learning Saturdays, evening activities, and even our office timings - all are designed to make sure that our teammates are happy. And this thought does stem from Jeevanvidya, which is all about harmonious thinking - the betterment of all. We all have a principle upon which we live our lives or, in a broader sense, run an organization. Jeevanvidya does provide us with that essence but it has never been something that we want to force people to follow. We have never asked people to become its follower - we respect everyone's choices in beliefs, so we are sorry if it ever felt forceful to you. That was never our intention. Our morning routine is where we start our every day by saying certain values, a few of which you mentioned, is actually a practice at achieving our goals. We think that's how behavioral science works and so do we all - to achieve a target, you constantly need to remind yourself of it - because if you forget then what's the point, right? Focus is what brings any vision to reality and all the things we do every day in that morning routine, are aimed at bringing all the different teammates together, aligning them to that vision. There were some practices that we did start initially with the purpose of growing our company - social media sharing being one of them. We apologize that it made you feel uncomfortable, but we are never opposed to change, and we have stopped following this practice since it's not our need anymore. We always welcome feedback that will help us improve for the betterment, and while some of your points are helpful, others just seem to stem out of personal grudges and prejudice than be constructive criticism. We don't think we can help you with that in any way. Hope you have a good experience in your new journey, though.

Pros

1. This company has a rich design culture and design ecosystem. 2.You will gain valuable exposure to various industries if you are fortunate or have good networking skills.

Cons

1. First and foremost, if you expect work-life balance, think again. 2. This company demands long working hours. Initially, during the hiring process, the HR might mention a 9-hour workday, but they conveniently neglect to mention that there are activities scheduled after the official working hours. 3. This rule seems immature, as they assume that if you have friends, you will gossip about their culture. I believe everyone has their own fulfilling life and wouldn't necessarily discuss this culture. 4. The company practices micromanagement to an extreme extent. They provide only 2 biscuits per person in team time and even lack basic supplies like teaspoons and tissue papers, presumably due to a fear of theft. 5. At first, the culture may appear pleasant, like being in a temple, but soon it becomes evident that they indirectly pressure employees to conform. The founders are good but not great. They expect employees to put in extra effort, but their compensation is equivalent to that of an intern in a multinational corporation or outside the industry. In short, not everything that appears favorable on social media is actually good!

Hello, Our first review with an emoji in the heading, that's a nice change of pace. We are glad, first and foremost, that we could provide you with a great learning experience that can boost your career growth. We promise exposure for betterment in both color and culture, it's good to know you benefited from one of them. As for your comment about work-life balance and the demand for long working hours, we value clarity in communication over everything. We never want to demand anyone to work after hours, we are diligent about creating these situations as rarely as possible. Depending on individual effort, contribution, and skills, some teammates take the call to put in extra hours - which is never endorsed as a practice. Compensation is never determined on the basis of overtime invested; it is decided on your overall merit. We apologize for the miscommunication regarding working hours and activities scheduled after the official working hours. We are continuously working to improve transparency in our communication processes, ensuring that expectations are clearly outlined from the beginning to avoid such misunderstandings. We believe in transparency above all, so we are direct and clear about conveying conformity expectations to culture during hiring. We utilize case studies and feedback we receive from everyone to strive to bring changes for betterment to any policies or events, based on credibility and rationale instead of personal bias. We value open and respectful communication within the organization above everything else. We apologize if any measures have seemed immature or restrictive. Our intention is to foster a positive and inclusive environment where individuals feel comfortable expressing themselves and open a healthy dialogue. We are committed to creating a happy and productive team, and we will take your suggestions into consideration as we continuously work on improving our company culture and the overall working experience. Thank you.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback on your experience of working at Lemon Yellow. While feedback is something we always look forward to, it's constructive criticism that actually helps an individual or organization to evolve. This on the other hand, seems like a poorly thought out piece with no constructive intentions. Few things that we would like to address in the interest of safeguarding what Lemon Yellow stands for, which have been misconstrued in this review. - Lemon Yellow is not a religious place nor does one need to be religious in order to work with our amazing team. - We are one of the few organizations that keep our teammate's personal and professional goals first and help in every way possible to share the workload when asked for help. - Our “evening games” are actually introduced to focus on the betterment of our teammates. The exercise is conducted to have some fun and a light end to a day filled with work and meetings - especially in a situation of WFH where we have limited contact with every other teammate. - We make sure we have one-on-one conversations with our teammates so that no one goes unheard. That is also a space to open a dialogue and exchange feedback. This review seems written more out of spite than provide any valuable insights. We hope you find peace and joy wherever you go next and all the very best for your future career experiences.
