Pros

* Tech leads and engineers - not only do they care about delivering great tech solutions, but they are also some of the most helpful, empathetic people I've had the pleasure of working with. The tech leads in particular truly care about amplifying the careers of the people around them. * Typical startup perks - gym, food, ping pong table etc

Cons

There have been retention issues in technology for quite some time. This is due to: * Empathy and compassion is seen as a weakness by upper management * "Company vision" is a checklist of tech milestones, with no consideration of the culture of Technology * No support * Management is incredibly toxic * Unrealistic timelines and a culture of blame

Pros

The company was very flexible with employees' schedules and allowed for remote work.

Cons

The executive team seemed to be solely focused on the bottom line and not concerned with the well-being of their employees. The business underwent mass redundancies while simultaneously experiencing significant changes, which left many of us feeling uncertain and unsupported. The company culture was dominated by sales, with little regard for other departments. Sales managers seemed to rule the business to the detriment of other business goals. There was a severe lack of respect for other roles, and sales goals were prioritized over everything else, often leading to other departments being neglected. Senior leaders did not provide clear direction during this transitional period, which led to confusion and frustration among employees. The company culture was marked by nepotism and favoritism, which made it difficult to advance in the company, no matter how hard you worked. Feedback was taken, but it never felt like it was taken seriously, with little improvement or changes being made.

We take all feedback seriously, and we’re sorry to hear you had a negative experience while working with us. We are committed to providing a workplace culture that values the contributions of all, and we continually strive to improve in this area. We appreciate your feedback and take it seriously as we continue to grow and evolve as a company, look after the wellbeing of our employees and provide opportunities for career progression based on merit. We understand that any transitional period can be challenging, and we endeavored to strike a balance between informing employees about the restructure as early as possible and avoiding premature communication that can lead to speculation, rumors, and additional stress. We apologise if you didn't feel that clear directions were given at the time, and we acknowledge any frustration this may have caused. Our support and resources are available to anyone impacted by the changes, including our employee assistance program. Our goal is to position our business for long-term growth and success, and this restructure will enable us to better align resources with our strategic priorities. Sales is a part of those strategic priorities but not the sole focus, and we strive to prioritise other business goals as well. Thank you again for your feedback. We value and give serious consideration to the feedback we receive, as it helps us to progress and develop. If you have any additional feedback you would like to share with us, please don't hesitate to reach out by emailing peopleandculture@lendi.com.au

Micromanagers and Bullies

Pros

Free gym, free lunch every 2 weeks, incredibly smart people in engineering

Cons

- Executive team are quite simply put bullies. They are usually seen berating engineering and giving them uninformed opinions and solutions to problems - There has been a 90% turnover of team leads in engineering and exec are gaslighting employees telling them that there isn't a retention problem at all hands meetings - executives in technical positions do not understand the complexity of what they are asking for and are constantly condescending towards employees when talking about the implementation of a solution - there is talk of creating a psychologically safe workplace while exec continue their old behaviour which make it an unsafe working environment - work has not slowed down in engineering over 9 months, and exec are constantly complaining that not enough is getting done. People are burning out. - if all you want to do is write code, this might be the place for you. There is otherwise no career development opportunities
