Pros

Take the time to help you understand your job especially if a new grad everyone shoulders the load evenly When you are done with your day you are done with your day there the company always puts your personal and family life first.

Cons

Marketing always seems to be an island on to its own self. Never huge raises. Its great they keep people forever but sometimes the older employees seem less than willing to learn new Technologies.

Pros

It's a great place to learn the basics about publishing, and Lerner does produce some really amazing books. Things can get hairy when it's time to wrap up the season, but the overall work/life balance is pretty good.

Cons

Compensation is terrible. There also aren't very many opportunities for advancement, and any attempt at professional development is on your own dime.

Pros

Great experience for new grads looking to get into book publishing. I learned basic, office-y admin skills and exposure to online marketing.

Cons

Difficult to move up the ladder. Marketing is isolated. Lots of long-timers who are technology-averse. Definitely heard "we should be on Facebook" more than once (when we were, in fact, on Facebook.
