Pros

The leadership team are incredibly supportive, they are never too busy to assist you, regardless of the matter. It is a company that has clear routes of progression with many examples of staff members joining as trainees, qualifying, becoming client relationship managers and moving on to managerial and associate director roles within the firm. The biggest 'pro' is the training provided by the firm. Employee's are given significant exposure to all areas of accounting, tax and audit but also given the opportunity to focus in specific areas, if desired. The varied exposure not only supports employee development and the ability to gain relevant qualifications but increases the opportunities for career progression, post qualification. The training and support does not stop post qualification, the firm are always happy to support further study and provide resources for ongoing CPD.

Cons

Parking at the Chichester office is sometimes difficult due to a restriction on the number of cars able to park in the onsite car park. The company, however, does have an overflow car park close to the office. Sometimes there is a reluctance to come to the Chichester office if you are unable to park in the onsite car park.

Pros

Having joined Lewis Brownlee with little experience but seeking the opportunity to start my career, I feel very lucky that I was offered an entry-level role here. Since then, I have gained invaluable experience and a wide range of skills, allowing me to progress to my current position as part of the management team. I feel as though this company offers a lot to anyone at any level in their career, because they care about their staff's wellbeing and development and really encourage effective teamwork. The social events and enjoyable working environment means I’ve made great friendships and fun memories throughout my time here. The LB team works hard to provide a quality service for their clients, but the leadership team take care to ensure the staff are looked after. In the last year, a conscious effort has been made to be proactive in collating and reviewing staff feedback. In doing so, new initiatives have been introduced, such as Birthday leave, increased annual leave, and benchmarking salaries! When I compare where I work with others I know, I feel grateful to be where I am.

Cons

As much as the Chichester office is a lovely building and with beautiful surroundings, it is annoying that you can’t walk down to the shops (luckily the Midhurst and Whiteley offices have more shops/eateries within walking distance!). The car park at Chichester can sometimes prove to be slightly problematic due to the size and layout (although free to use and is onsite). Parking at Midhurst and Whiteley is never an issue.

Pros

Lewis Brownlee is a colourful place to work with a lot of different and vibrant personalities making up the team. Staff are enthusiastic and fully support one another - an ethic that permeates from the top down. The fact that the firm has a female Managing Director is a good reflection of the firm's progressive nature - it is a place where talent shines and those wanting to start a career in accountancy are given every opportunity to thrive. The office buildings are attractive, management is approachable and open to new ideas, and the firm has a really strong standing in the local community. They have fun team activity days that usually serve a charitable cause of some kind - so they really put themselves out there to honour their mantra of making a difference that counts.

Cons

Parking at the actual office can be limited if the whole office turns out in force - but this is usually well mitigated by the work from home policy and the amiability of staff to pick each other up from the overflow car park they have arranged down the road.
