These comments have recently been brought to our attention and we would like to this opportunity to respond to each point individually:
“People were getting fired/hired every day”
Over the last 12 months LifeSecure worked with various JobCentre’s and Training Providers (all contact details for these independent organisations will be provided to those interested in following up) through a Sector Based Work Academy. This meant we opened up work experience and training opportunities within Financial Services for people who would not otherwise have the chance.
Unfortunately it seems that some candidates have seen this as “hiring and firing” when in actual fact they were on a Job Centre run training programme so they were neither hired or fired by LifeSecure but in fact benefitted from training and work experience while retaining their JobCentre benefits.
“No job security, constantly on edge”
There are over 40 full time staff at LifeSecure, making us one of the UK’s largest Life Insurance brokerage firms. Over 70% of our staff have been with us for over 5 years and we have a staff retention rate for all new starters of over 95%. The facts on the ground simply do not support this comment.
Our hiring process allows for a trial wherein all candidates get spend 2-3 hours on the main sales floor, experiencing the positive work environment and making their own minds up for themselves.
With respect to Job Security – our FCA regulated firm represents almost a strong and stable 90 years of history within Financial Services while working with the UKs leading insurers such as Aviva, Legal & General, Scottish Widows and many more. We are a recognised, successful brokerage firm recognised and respected by our insurance partners. As a result of our success we are growing our company to accommodate over 100 staff in our new office over the next 12 - 18 months. None of this would be possible if our staff did not have job security within a successful and stable firm.
“Telesales Job = constant rejection and negativity”
During the last 12 months LifeSecure spent over £1million on a digital marketing campaign across all major online platforms to ensure anyone in the UK considering insurance products knows about our firm. That means LifeSecure never need to “cold call” customers and we do not have to put up with “constant rejection” as we only even speak to customers that have responded to our advertising or have specifically opted in to receive our insurance advice.
Furthermore our roles are definitely not simply “telesales” jobs. We are regulated by the FCA to provide independent advice to our clients so not only are we a broker but we take responsibility for the advice we give to our clients – unlike most other firms who sell similar insurance products. So although we do work over the phone, our staff are not simply “telesales” people but are regulated by the FCA to provide insurance brokerage and advisory services within a highly regulated and professional Financial Services environment.
“Did not care AT ALL about employees”
A company cannot be as successful as our firm without caring for both their customers and staff members. We rely on our team to be happy in order for them to ensure the happiness of our customers. Unhappy staff would definitely result in unhappy customers. However, we have a 5 STAR rating on independent review sites such as TrustPilot precisely because we care about everyone we work with:

“Told you could move up in the company... there were people who I know who worked there a while after I left and STILL never moved up”
It’s seems that whoever wrote this comment did not pass their training. That is unfortunate and of course means they would not be able to “move up” as they were not able to do the basic role. However saying that there are “people who I know who worked there for a while” is a very vague statement without names and timescales and simply does not reflect the reality of our actual Team Leaders and Managers whom all candidates are able to meet and ask about their progression.
“You get fined if they feel you are “wasting” their database”
Our clients information is sacred to us. If a customer trusts our firm with private information about themselves and their families we will absolutely ensure that as an FCA regulated firm there are strict safeguards around that information. As part of this regime LifeSecure have in place fines and penalties to deter those who do not share the highest respect for our customers information and to ensure only those candidates who are right for our firm and can be trusted to work with our clients are allowed to become a part of our team.
