Pros

Helping others Was contracted hours not just per visit Decent money for mileage Able to claim back expenses for fuel while shopping for clients Uniform provided

Cons

Very minimal training, had two calls where I shadowed then went out into the busy town centre on my own with a full rota run Although able to claim back for parking in the town. It did add up, as you got it with your next paycheck. If there was a problem, it was extremely difficult to get a hold of management. Care plans were not detailed Very rushed. Back to back calls. Could be cleaning one call. Shopping the next. Shopping was stressful, go to the clients home, get the list. Sometimes the list wasn’t ready. Then go to the shops. And get the shopping. Take it back to the client and put it all away in sometimes an hour was stressful and difficult. As well as having to fill in the cash or card record.
