Pros

It was an easy job, with an opportunity to connect with the residents. Management seemed to actually care about the employees, and overall the culture was friendly and casual.

Cons

Some of the employees were downright incompetent, refused to do their jobs, never showed up on time, etc. In a customer service position, the customers (residents) were way easier to get along with than my coworkers.

The residents are great and so are the people you work with, it's like a family environment.

Cons

Training of new people is awful because the management is awful and the whole system is disorganized. Supervisor was only around when some mishap happened other than that she was nowhere to be seen but would always complain about how things are done. The place is disgusting I feel bad for the residents that live there and have to eat the food because some of the workers don't care if they drop a spoon on the floor they will pick it back up and give it to the residents. Also the caregivers are rude and disrespectful and believe we cater to their every need.

As with many companies, turnover is somewhat of a problem. We are non profit so sometimes there may be areas where this is less attractive to some.
