Pros

It is hard to say how Steve, the owner, decides who he is going to be decent with. I enjoyed working at Lifebushido immensely. Most of the people were great to work with, but Steve is into power tripping so he favors some people over others. Someone reported that a client got a bad phone call and the origin of the call was unknown. I explained several reasons why it would not have been me, or could have been someone outside of our company altogether but I was suspended for a month just because of heresay and because a couple of people who were intimidated by my hard work and improvement had Steve's ear. Then he asked me to come back to work and there was no apology and no explanation about what happened with the bad call. I was calling for Real Estate companies but I was also calling for the company itself, so we could get more clients. I was working some really nice leads and had developed good relationships with dozens of the prospects I was calling. None of that mattered. I could not feel comfortable going back after heresay and gossip got me suspended for a month. If you are an introverted person who likes to focus on work and not get involved in the High School type politics, but would rather be judged by your results, this is not the company for you. If you are less reliant on talent and more on your ability to be political, you might have a chance to make a go of it. Gossips and judgmental Church ladies thrive at this company, even when they are not very organized, generally unpersonable and mean, and can't keep meetings they set.

Cons

I placed my entire review in the box above. I think it has all the important information regarding my experience.

Pros

Some positions have flexible hours. Most co-workers are great. A few methods of payment are available. There is a variety of work offered.

Cons

Now that they have switched to employee status many positions require schedules. Since the switch, pay is not really in a timely manner. Pay is scheduled for the 5th and their documents say it may occasionally be a day late if the 5th is on a weekend, but more months than less, the pay was more like the 6th or 7th. The owner and team leads ask for ideas on improvement but if you share ideas they take offense and become very defensive. There are favorites with the owner and teams tend to be very clicky. Marketing lead was rude when going over errors with newer team members. It was like being a first grader getting reprimanded by their teacher or parent. It was mandated that everyone volunteer in these triangle groups. We were told it was voluntary but those that did not volunteer were frowned upon. It was told to us that it was not billable because it was social but right before I left, certain groups were given mandatory calling projects to complete (they were allowed to bill a little, but not the full time spent generating leads). This may have been fine for those that enjoy cold calling but when I started there I let everyone know I was afraid to make these type of calls and was told it was no problem. Salary does not increase. The starting rate has been the same for at least five years, and to get an extra dollar per hour can take years. You are told there is advancement opportunity but leader roles incentive is a higher role vs a higher pay rate. There are many teams were members make the same or a dollar more than new incoming staff.

Pros

I had great flexibility with my hours to be able to work around my family life. If you have a good work turn in quality work, you have many opportunities to grow and learn new things. The relationship that you build with your clients makes the job rewarding.

Cons

The CEO can sometimes be difficult to work with and at times this caused relationships with clients to become strained.
