Pros

The company has a timely and innovative model for research.

Cons

No respect for expertise. No support from functional leadership. Upper management ridicules functional leads In front of their peers and superiors. Line management takes no action when this happens.

We would like to thank you for sharing your experience and are truly saddened at the thought of the experience you have detailed. Lightship values each team member and appreciates the critical role that every individual plays in redefining trials and providing hope for all. We acknowledge that while there is always room to improve as a leader, one should never engage in behavior or conduct that could be perceived as anything other than productive. We strive to provide a supportive, safe, environment where team members (leadership, management, and employees) can grow, develop, and learn from their mistakes free from concerns of judgement. We also advocate for frank and transparent feedback as we feel that it is the only way to learn, grow, and move forward. With this in mind we thank you for sharing your experience and will work to further explore these insights as a means of ensuring that other team members do not experience the same.

Pros

Can be good depending on what group you are in. If you're willing to take a risk, they might survive, who knows.

Cons

Extremely siloed working environment, which is impressive given the size of the organization. Leadership is a revolving door. I wonder if their executive team took any pay cuts on those massive salaries before their latest round of layoffs? Not generating anything for their investors, and don't know anyone in the industry who has trusted them with a study yet. If you think you've got what it takes then yeah, there's definitely an opportunity for you to shine here, just don't be surprised when all your colleagues leave or get fired.

Impressive Team With An Ambitious Mission

Pros

I was initially excited by the concept of Lightship: bringing the decades-old clinical research experience into modern day, and I have not been disappointed. CROs and Pharmaceutical firms have been talking about "virtual trials" for years, but what Lightship is currently building, with their "Direct-to-Patient" research model, is some of the most innovative technology the industry has seen. If you're excited about the prospect of bringing clinical research to the masses and accelerating drug development timelines, Lightship is the place to help make it happen.

Cons

Largely remote, flexible work environment isn't for everyone. If you're a person who requires oversight or thrives under bureaucracy an early stage company, like Lightship, could be a bad fit.
