Company Seeking to Grow Past Startup Stage Hits Maturity Setbacks

The company at large lacks professional leadership. A common tactic is to schedule dismissals disguised as sprint reviews. The HR department of one person in not versed in legalities and is inept. Management is immature, unprofessional, and unwilling to learn current technical or management concepts. A common practice seems to be to dismiss senior, more expensive engineers and hire less expensive interns that can be converted to FTE's at a much lower cost. There's a general animosity towards anyone coming from a startup background. Salaries are well below market, and benefits are not as great as hiring managers claim. It's often unclear who the line managers are- lines blur between project management and team management, despite director's explicit claims that project management doesn't lead the team.
