It was great… until it wasn’t

Pros

At first the company, culture, and direction were the best I had ever experienced in my career. Teams wanting to collaborate and embracing voices sold me on staying at Liongard as long as I had. The people made it what it was more than anything. There was excitement.

Cons

Leadership tanked once the tech space began leveling out. They quickly flipped and leaned into selling at all costs, allowing promises to partners be made about the product’s functionality that didn’t exist, belittling remarks, praising and uplifting individuals who only agreed with the C Suite rather than delivering value, and cheering only other “leaders” on for their mediocrity. It was one of the most vile things to witness. A RIF that seemed very poorly planned took place in 2022 that shifted the entire culture. It was clear that cutthroat was the route forward. Leadership contradicted themselves at every turn. It was not the change that served clearer direction for the company. It was a layoff to merely cut costs.

Pros

Loved the vibe and people when I first joined. Fast pace at times with a push for customer satisfaction. Things I lined up with and felt like I excelled in. Offered services I wanted when working at a MSP so I was fully committed to growing along side the company growth.

Cons

Fake sense of belonging. You get close to people and begin to get comfortable in your position but most newer people got canned. Couple of times I have seen mass lay offs since being laid off myself. Though the company is supposedly doing well number wise, seems like they do that frequently. So can't say you can have any kind of job security unless you have been there for years.

Pros

-Flexible (unlimited) PTO -$100 monthly phone and internet stipend -Flexible hours: this is really a company that is more about what you get done than when you're online -Meeting heavy but that means lots of face time with teammates, doesn't feel as lonely as you would expect remote work to be -Fully remote and encourage you to move around/pursue your lifestyle dreams all over the US! -Company is doing really well and is continuing to grow -Great CEO - super accessible, takes the time to listen and has a great vision

Cons

-Have to pay out of pocket for vision and dental, no package that includes it -Salary is not competitive with location and based on Houston, TX salaries -Not enough women at the company. As a woman you'll face a lot of micro-aggressions like being treated like a secretary or being called sweetie -People of color are not representative and the leadership level and often pushed to the side - topics on inclusive language and DEI support are shutdown because other people feel "uncomfortable" or don't want to be "censored" -No diversity/sensitivity training in place -One HR person who is AWESOME but not properly equipped to handle all of the challenges -Real aggressive sales culture that is dominating the otherwise wonderful company culture
