Pros

The students are amazing - you truly get to work with fantastic people and learn a lot from them.

Cons

You will be paid less than similar roles at comparable organizations, and there is no upward mobility. The leadership at this organization is also very controlling, extremely political in how they make decisions, and there is no autonomy in your position. Between all this and that many people have been fired without much cause, it’s not worth it to work here.

Pros

The actual cause and what the organization strives to do is great. Wish I had more.

Cons

-Pay -Not enough diversity at all in terms of race, background, and roots. If you don’t have a diverse workforce, how are you supposed to understand your clients? -Benefits -What the organization strives to do and what it actually does has a gap. -Micromanagement I’ve worked at a lot of places and thought I’d dip my feet in the non-profit world, but honestly you can get a much higher pay in for-profit for half the stress and volunteer on the side at these types of companies.
