Pros

Work life balance is good, as even most senior level roles require entry level experience.

Cons

This used to be a firm that cared more about employee development and culture. However in recent years they've cut costs by eliminating: education/development funding, steady salary option, and occasional associate lunches. In other words they stopped investment in their employees. Further, most roles are more staff augmentation and not pure consulting. They hire talented people but can only offer mundane roles with little challenge or opportunity for real career advancement. It's turned into just another consulting firm struggling to make a name for themselves and not quite succeeding.

Thank you for your feedback. It seems that you once enjoyed being at Loft9 but that changed. We apologize that you had this experience. While it is accurate that we’ve needed to focus on some firm expenses, we do not feel that it is fair to suggest that we do not invest in our employees. Our latest data shows that our associates have on average 94 hours of learning/training in a year; benchmark data indicates that this is ahead of most other firms. Additionally, our associates do still have the opportunity to expense “associate connections,” an opportunity to grab coffee or lunch with other Loft9 associates to share stories, swap best practices and simply connect. Finally, to your point regarding the types of roles available, many consulting firms will have a blend of project based and staff augmentation work, especially if they have managed services as we do. In our perspective it is important to have the right balance, something we work at constantly. We understand we didn’t get it right in your perspective, and apologize again for that misalignment, but we are proud of the work our amazing associates do with our fantastic clients. We value openness and direct feedback, thank you again for sharing. If you’d like to share more about your perspectives on the firm please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly, you probably still have my contact information but just in case, ebeals@loft9consulting.com. Thank you

Pros

- Excellent company culture that is lived by everyone in the firm. - The organization is "flat" in that regardless of title, everyone's ideas are listened to and the partners are always looking for opportunities to engage with associates. - Great opportunities for growth, training stipend, there is a heavy focus on professional development.

Cons

There are no considerable cons to working at Loft9. Excellent firm with excellent, genuine people.

Wow, what a kind response. Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective. As with every consulting firm, we have a long list of things we are working to improve. We are off to a great year and are looking forward to continued growth internally and externally. It sounds like you are already well connected within the firm. I’d encourage you to continue to build those bonds and to help others build their connections. We are only as strong as our connections. Of course if you have any additional feedback or suggestions for improvements please don’t hesitate to reach out to any of the partners, MDs, etc. etc. Thank you again! - Ed

Pros

If you're looking for a contract type of "gig" but with full time employee benefits, this might be a good fit for you (assuming they find you a "role" or you don't get paid till then). Go in with your eyes open.

Cons

They seemed to be struggling to find new business the last I interacted with them. Take their spiel about "company values" with a pinch of salt. Immature leadership.

Thank you for taking the time to provide a review. It seems you didn’t have a great experience and for that we apologize. We’ve heard from our associates and our clients that our delivery model, coaching/mentoring program and culture set us apart in the competitive market that we operate in every day. We encourage all associates to have direct and open conversations with everyone at the firm, especially leadership. We are glad to hear that the benefits were appreciated. All firms have business cycles, not sure when you were here but we’ve landed 8 new accounts in 2017 alone and our bench is currently extremely low, we can’t hire fast enough to meet client demand. We will always have things that we are working to improve. These elements are discussed regularly in account meetings, practice meetings, 1:1 meetings etc. Beyond that, we have numerous channels for feedback. I’d invite you to reach out to me directly to share your perspective so I can address any concerns and we can all learn from this. Please let me know if you’d like to schedule some time to talk. Thank you – Ed ebeals@loft9consulting.com
