Pros

-Should have plenty of opportunity for advancement in the next several years due to older workforce. -Best pay in area for production work. $17.51-$25.42 an hour (7 years to top out). -Great Benefits. -Stability. -Will pay tuition and books for college (limited amount per year)

Cons

-Team concept isn't what it's hyped up to be. -Promotions are hard to come by unless you are part of the good ole boy club. -Swing shift is horrible. Should go to fixed shift system. -Top-out takes way too long. Should go back to five years or less. If you haven't learned it in five years, you're not going to learn it in seven. -Handles discipline with underperforming older employees poorly. This leaves a bad impression with the younger workforce.

Pros

-Excellent facilities that are iteratively updated to catch up to competitors. -Great work environment with very friend co-workers. -Good access to technical resources. -Quiet and serene location for an Aluminum plant. -Within 30min of small city and 1hr of large city. -Great safety record. -Good transparency between departments in case assistance or resources are required. -Fairly good pay and benefits compared to industry standards. -Well performing aluminum plant all in all.

Cons

-Career advancement can be a bit slow for most. -Easy to get bogged down in one position and be overlooked for advancement. -Like most old plants, many parts and systems are a bit outdated and require improvement. -Management is being shuffled around a bit in recent days, thus there is some realignment of localized goals that is taking place. -A notable portion of the staff are aging out of their position. Upon retirement, there will likely be a significant loss of undocumented techniques and knowledge that will be lost with their departure. -Despite having a very profitable Recycle center, the department itself was at times in a disarray. -Plant is owned by multiple large corporations thus provides for conflicting objectives at time.
