Lone Star Paving is NOT a good company to work for.

Pros

Privately/locally owned. No corporate conference calls, revenue projections or collections meetings. The crews, drivers and support staff are mostly good, hard working people.

Cons

Upper Management is disorganized and chaotic. None of them can properly manage people and they tend to hire family and friends that lack appropriate experience for key positions. If anyone tries to hold them accountable, points out mistakes or tries to suggest things be done "right", they will get rid of that employee. They spend most of their time playing golf or hunting on the company dime. When they do actually come to the office for work, they are usually wearing shorts and sandals and come in late and leave early. How is that different than stealing? It's impossible to respect people who have such poor rapport with the other employees, lack leadership skills and display little to no work ethic.
