Where to start? It really feels like the wheels have fallen off here at Lumenate.
Back in August the powers that be decided to cut bonuses for all of the engineering staff. It really looks to me like some major cash flow issues but in an all hands call with the company the president said it was "not a cash flow issue but a balance sheet issue". I'm no finance guy, but I don't really understand a difference there. This was after four or five layoffs happened in a little over a year.
Apparently they didn't think far enough ahead to realize what that decision would do to the company because after some key engineering personnel left the company as a result, they abandoned their plan for paying bonuses out over time and instead decided to pay everything a full month after telling us that it wasn't going to happen fully until February of next year.
Amazingly, that didn't stem the flow of people leaving and they decided to offer a longevity bonus for those that stick around to the end of the year. I'm just hoping that I'm not here to be able to collect that.
All in all, during my time here I haven't really had any idea of what the long term goals of the company are. Add to that, I don't think anyone knows what differentiates this company from any other reseller out there and it seems like a grim future.
