From my experiences and in my opinion….It took a month and I knew it was a bad decision to have accepted the offer. The constant inconsistency of this company is exhausting. I found a make it up as you go along and hurry up and wait environment with no real direction and no clear procedures. They are trying to expand too fast and leaving problems and issues along the way that are not being resolved and employees on the lower half of the scale have to deal with the mess month after month with no end in sight. There are people at corporate who want to pass the problems to someone else or they are just ignored. These create a very stressful and unrewarding environment. The on-call is relentless with very little time off when not on call. It significantly interferes with personal and family time. The company seems to be very tight with money overall. The pay is less than other companies for similar jobs. The insurance is expensive and doesn’t cover what it should. There are not any opportunities for real growth and advancement...just work, work, work. My peers, including immediate management, showed appreciation and respect and that is where it ends as nothing good ever came from above. Don’t email someone high up….. It won’t go well for you. They drag you to quarterly meetings to tell you how great everything is with numbers, data and percentages and a cheap lunch, when in reality, there are so many problems that are not being addressed that they either turn a blind eye to or are completely oblivious and this makes life miserable month after month. There is a high turnover rate both in firings and resignations and they’ll fire you at the drop of a hat. One side often doesn’t know what the other side is doing. A good example is that the network is often not ready but residential installs are scheduled regardless. It is obvious T-Fiber knows they made a big mistake partnering. If you have a chance, talk to someone who works/worked for Lumos before taking a job there….you’ll be glad you did.
