Toxic Workplace, Floundering Leadership

Pros

There are some great and incredibly intelligent people at the agency, who are great at their jobs. The pay and benefits are great, especially at the entry level.

Cons

There is an increasingly toxic workplace culture that prides themselves on working well beyond business hours and being ready to fire an employee the second they question the status quo. Upper leadership is pretty ineffective with empty promises and will praise your work, then tell you you're not doing enough within the same sentence. There are clearly company favorites, with people being promoted to manager incredibly fast, though they are not equipped to manage that responsibility, while others are held to unrealistic standards with no clear direction as to what can be done to further improve performance. Maximizing your output and doing as much work as you can is the priority here, whether or not it is necessary or healthy for you.

New Grads - Beware!

Pros

- None this company was incredibly misleading

Cons

- Treated badly by management - Shady CEO who quietly lays people off while continuing to hire to make it look like the company is growing - ITS NOT - Laid off within a month of starting after relocating with no warning while the CEO continued to hire people and boast about excellent "growth" - This company hires new grads and young professionals who don't know any better. DO NOT fall for this trap. Look elsewhere.

I didn't feel like I was given time to do my job.

Pros

Pleasant HR. Everyone was pretty nice to me.

Cons

There were some days when I had 5 hours of meetings interspersed throughout the day. I know the CEO has commented on some of the posts and said that employees work between 40-50 billable hours a week. The keyword is BILLABLE. That's what the company can charge the client. With meetings upon meetings your weekly hours can easily creep up to 60+. That wouldn't necessarily be bad if you were compensated well. When I divided my salary by my hours worked, I would've made more at target. They also do this thing where they make you feel like you're part of a prestigious organization so that you don't question the negatives of the company. They kept telling me that there were a lot of employees that came from East-Coast-Schools. They never said which schools so I can assume they weren't prestigious.
