Pros

Unfortunately I cannot find any..

Cons

The only purpose of this company is to make quick profit irregardless of the means used. When the company I used to work for was acquired by MAG, they told the employees that it was their responsibility to increase the revenue while at the same time the management was absent from the whole 'transformation' process. They gave the employees false hope and made their working life stressful and depressing. Their whole attitude was marginally civilized. Even when they announced that they will fire the the 2/3 of the subsidiary's personnel, they did that with a big smile on their face... No decency...

No passion for games

Pros

- Good benefits - Relatively generous bonus

Cons

There is no passion for making games. The founders started the company solely to make money, the only reason they picked games was because it was profitable at the time. They love to grow by acquiring companies, but are not competent enough to handle it, so they destroy the relationships with their employees, causing morale to decline. And then they act surprised about it. They have a very old tech stack, with heavy technical debt. It can easily feel like you're working at a bank rather than at a video game company. The backend is a badly designed Java monolith, and any attempt to break it up into smaller services or moving to to more modern languages is shot down instantly by management. Management likes to claim that you have huge freedom at MAG, which is a big lie. Management tightly controls which games get worked on, and if a game gets canceled they don't hesitate to fire anyone involved with it, if they can do it legally. The CEO claimed that he is not a big fan of Swedish labor laws, saying that "I think the one who pays the bills should be in control of who gets a salary". It's also not a safe working environment for women and minorities. Management is obsessed with attracting women which means that the few female employees are always pressured to help with recruiting even if they don't want to. Unlike most of Sweden, there is a strong "brogrammer" culture, with "edgy" jokes with racial slurs not being uncommon.

Pros

The pros are quite common to the companies in the industry, so nothing special: -Flexible working times -Free breakfast on fridays -People

Cons

The main con is that they do not deliver what they promise. They claim to be a flat hierarchy company with distributed decision taking processes, that it is totally false. They give you the totally fake feeling of having freedom to do what you want but then you are not offered with that freedom. In terms of product, they do not innovate or create great products, they just copy or purchase what has been working in other markets/companies. Only 2 in-house made/original products have been released in 4 years. They are hiring average people (with the exception of some fancy and totally stock market oriented hire of a famous CMO an CFO). They used to attract great talent, they hired great professionals at the beginning but then they began to bring Junior or non qualified people. Not a place to learn. The salary reviews are ridiculous, they give you a ridiculuos increase of 1K or 1.5K even thought your salary is 40% or 50% below the average. My advise here, ask for high salary when negotiating (they do have the money in the bank) such 55K for any position, if you don't get it when you arrive then you will never get it because there is no career progression at all. Finally there is gender discrimination by some people in the company. Pay attention to this or you will be in troubles
