Pros

The culture was great in the beginning until it scaled too quickly. The product is debatably the best lineage on the market.

Cons

Leadership has tendencies that promise career advancement to get you in the door but never deliver. The company is in a downturn because its market is restricted to 3 industries. Quota is rarely attained. Leadership will act in their best interest even if it doesn't reflect the company's best interest

A poor experience

Pros

- Strong partnership with tech blue chip opens doors. - Some really nice folks in the Tampa office.

Cons

- Multiple rounds of Layoffs since January. - Over hired sales people to just lay them off within a year or so. - First time CEO. - Mainly a solution for old on-prem technology, data lineage is not super exciting

Pros

You have freedom to complete tasks as you wish and on your own time (no micromanaging). Your work schedule is flexible. Team events are great! You can be the one to create and write many processes that are not yet established. Annual leave is approved quickly.

Cons

False hopes about promotion and career progression. Overall lack of communication. Some departments seem to be competing with each other instead of wanting to reach one common goal. The recent global layoff (January 2023) could have been avoided if management knew how to make better financial decisions. Employees were caught by surprise that day since managers kept saying things like “Don’t worry, we got this.” in previous meetings. New processes take a long time to be approved by management which is strange for a start-up. No onboarding whatsoever which results in lack of consistency even within the same team. No defined goals.

Manta is indeed a startup and, like many other startups, quickly adjusting to the current market and economy often requires a swift change in direction. Sometimes, this means making very hard management decisions, such as parting ways with our talented team to ensure sustainability. As a growing company, we develop processes as we grow together with our people, which means that some processes (like team-specific onboarding, careers, and goals) are also built together as the team and company evolve and stabilize. Last year has been quite strong in terms of process implementation, (recruitment, general onboarding, communication, tools, benefits, job descriptions, etc.), and career paths and performance are indeed one of the key elements in the roadmap. This feedback reinforces that we are indeed on the right path, but there is still a lot to do, so thank you for sharing.
