Progressive Company with passionate Directors marred by nepotism and lack of career progress
Pros
The very best thing about MEL is that the Directors are not necessarily hung up on qualifications. They have grown this successful business with hard graft, and if you are a hard working loyal person, they will give you a chance and do reward staff for good work in their salary. The offices are a nice place to work, and the Directors are good at events for staff. They will teach customer service 2nd to none. It has stayed with me
Cons
The unpredictability is the worst aspect of the business, one minute you’ve put in a few years of hard work, long hours etc. they will lose some work then make you redundant. There is a method but generally it’s clearing out. Nepotism is rife here, you can be a senior person one day then a family member or old friend is now your boss, without notice or reason and regardless of knowledge and ability. Training for staff isn’t necessarily common – as you may leave. Hard work, long hours and covering your reasons for everything is required. It’d very much re-launch your career but staff come and go often here and recruitment agents are kept busy filling positions.
