Extremely Toxic

Pros

High-profile clients Somewhat flexible PTO Some good peers to make it not so miserable. All in all I liked the work I was doing but the leadership’s toxic behavior makes everything else miserable.

Cons

I’ve never worked somewhere with this level of toxicity. Not just from the top down, but mostly from middle management. Directors and VPs actually run the place since C-level execs are either never there or only speak to their favorites. Directors and VPs are so desperate to outsmart and outdo each other that they are extremely nasty to one another and their teams. All for a pat on the back from c-levels or to feed their egos with a power play. Make one wrong move or speak up, and be ready for your own boss, you’re “friend,” to turn against you in a second instead of have your back. They all do this. I truly don’t think that exec leadership even knows this is going on. Turn over rate is so high because teams can’t stand to work with their direct overseers. These people are still there and still be celebrated for their “leadership” while their teams are miserable. These people are not leaders. They’re petty and they gossip about anyone and everyone. Teams are never trained, never taught, and then get let go or ganged up on when they can’t do their jobs at 110%. HR doesn’t truly exist because execs attempt to handle these issues themselves out of fear the drama will leak. Or maybe HR team members are just another example of how execs don’t trust the people they’ve hired to do their jobs/micromanaging. Account management teams (and I’m sure others) are overworked and completely unsupported. COO in charge of salary undercuts everyone with only the aim to pay as low as possible instead of what people/the positions are worth. Salary negotiations feel like immature back and forth, making employees feel stupid for even asking. Be aware if you work for them. The work can be fun but don’t trust the people. Look out for yourself because that’s what everyone else is doing. They are not a team. Not a family. They don’t actually value collaboration. Go in and enjoy your own tasks and go home.

Pros

Great place to learn, very relaxed environment, expected to play video games, watch Netflix & drink beer to fill up the 40 hour work week.

Cons

Listen to your gut. There is 1 person on the leadership team that lies to potential employees to justify a below-market salary (flexible hours, working remote). When you approach other members of the leadership team about said person, they shrug their shoulders and say "sorry". Management cares exclusively about money & are rarely in the office. They expect their employees to leave after they realized they have been lied to & underpaid. Management doesn't care to fix these problems as long as they can keep their big clients and underpaid college grads. After this review is posted, there will be a company meeting to encourage current employees to leave 5-star reviews to keep their ratings up.

Pros

Fast paced, and a great place to learn. Great people to work with.

Cons

Management cares almost exclusively about money, and it affects employee morale drastically. The company's model relies on underpaying recent college graduates who don't know their value, and expecting those employees to leave once they figure out they're underpaid. The turnover rate at this company is ridiculous. Employees are treated as expendable, and management thinks they can smooth that over by providing margaritas and a large deck. CEO is rarely in the office. They are good people who run a business like a content mill.
