Pros

Exposed to GRC and country's economy direction. Many big projects being planned. Apple wannabie: Ecosystems of ecosystem. Trying to get big projects with agile and scrum.

Cons

One man show for most projects. No structured design, agile meant 3 pages Architectural diagrams and no talking to customers for clarification. Pre ISV era but wanting to be Apple.

Pros

MIMOS was and is still a beautiful and conducive campus for creative and innovative people who can achieve self-actualisation through national level contributions

Cons

MIMOS was in total disarrayed since 2004/2005, its 3 core missions was queried, disturbed and all was lost. MIMOS became a full R&D organisation again in 2006. The man to helm MIMOS was supposed to be an intelligent man with PhD qualification. However, the Minister of MOSTI of that time proposed a man known to the new PM, Abdullah Badawi. The trouble and hatred of the new CEO towards Malay employees began when the former CEO deliberately mentioned at MIMOS Hall official namaing ceremony said: "I barely managed to pass the CEO and his second man to join and pass UM Engineering degree program...=/-" . Apparently the man was a technician with Motorola ...and make it short Motorola finally was a failure, nothing so R&D about Motorola in Penang but just a doer for r&D part of Motorola R&D. He brought all ex Motorolans who failed elsewhere ...CELCOM and other personal endavour. All top management has just basic degree, good for making own business within working environment Promotions just like ikut suka akulah....even a secretary become a Senior Manager, a post all timers (Malay) especially couldn't smell The Chairman was a lady and relatively weak with praises from politician CEO, without academic excellence Management/CEO made money by building useless centre of excellence and building between nicely planned blocks Shareholders fund which was untouched before was simply used to pay out bonus. Crazy and unethical as those who were in MIMOS prior to June 2006 could get 0 month to 1.5 months versus 3-4 months for the young, basic degree, big title employees New employees who were brought in as contract staff, titled directors and up, mostly first degree holders (Motorolan and others) were converted as full time. Those in business claimed in 2006 had MBA and until today do not legally obtained MBA Not much R&D but software development work for projects (mostly failed) and the jobs were awarded to outsiders through management related companies. This behaviour continue. MACC fails to discover as only young officers were sent in. Have no idea of forensic and how works/jobs were awarded to outside companies and these outside companies subcons to management related companies Management was and remain not transparent and cheating at presentations, claiming Makcik OC and idola were tablets better than iPac. The CEO was earning sub RM15,000 per month at Motorola (premium pay, if in MIMOS same job worth RM7,000, and no chance you get it without advance degrees) and was awarded job President & CEO above RM800,000 and now may be sub RM2,000,000.00 per annum The management has no R&D landscape , certainly "excellent" in making money themselves, and certainly can not bring MIMOS. The monthly wages per month in MIMOS is CRAZZZY for what they are (mostly first degree holders, compare to previous teams and other R&D)

Pros

1. Very good client exposure. You maybe left alone to deal with clients. 2. If you're having good performance you may have chance to lead.

Cons

1. Be prepared to work with people who dominate instead of people who you can learn from 2. Talent left, employees who have good relationships with top management stays. 3. HR may manipulate you for the company's advantage. 4. Senior management doesn't have sufficient technical knowledge to lead. Management here doesn't lead by example. 5. When things goes wrong, scapegoat will to be figure out instead of solution.
