Pros

The work itself was meaningful and offered strong growth potential. There were opportunities to work closely with customers, and those interactions were often exceptional and rewarding. Many of the teams were talented and committed to delivering good outcomes, and the mission of the work could be motivating at times.

Cons

Unfortunately, the senior leadership culture significantly detracted from the experience. The leadership class at Meyer created an environment that often felt aggressive, dismissive, and unnecessarily confrontational. In many situations it felt like a “dog-eat-dog” atmosphere where employees were belittled or pressured rather than supported. During COVID, leadership communication and behavior toward employees were particularly disappointing. Rather than showing empathy or professionalism during a difficult period, some leadership messaging came across as mocking or dismissive of employee concerns. This contributed to a culture that felt inconsiderate and unkind during an already stressful time. Because of the leadership environment and management approach, I would not recommend the company as a place to work.

Pros

- Exceptional flexibility to chart your own professional path, allowing you to focus heavily on technical delivery or pivot into management as you see fit. - A wide variety of projects across different domains, offering plenty of opportunities to dive into interesting and impactful work. - The day to day environment is elevated by genuinely friendly, intelligent, and collaborative coworkers.

Cons

- Recent significant reductions in force have taken a visible toll on the workforce, leaving many employees feeling jaded and worn down. - As the work program contracts, there is a growing tendency to simply do whatever sponsors request rather than providing the objective, independent guidance the company is known for. - The internal job market can be incredibly difficult to navigate. If you do not have a strong personal network within the company, finding billable work can feel almost impossible. - The cultural environment is not uniform. Your overall job satisfaction will vary dramatically depending on the specific division or group you land in.
