Pros

1. *Some* work mates and colleagues are friendly and nice to be around. 3. Being friends with students and helping them out. 2. UoG validation. 3. Transportation. 4. Medical Insurance. 5. Social Insurance. 6. An *apparently* good position.

Cons

1. VERY toxic and abusive work environment. 2. NO appreciation or acknowledgement whatsoever; not on any level. 3. EXTREMELY LOW SALARIES that are totally not equivalent to the amount of work done or the effort exerted, and are not the least comparable to other universities! The annual raise is trivial/ terrible as well, and is inconsistent with the governmental increase in prices. No bonuses either. 4. It is totally normal to work outside the official working hours, on your off-day(s), on official holidays and on FRIDAYs without complaining. You should be available 24/7 WITHOUT ANY KIND OF DECENT COMPENSATION! You may get work calls/ WhatsApp orders anytime. 5. The work load is just too much to handle and it cannot be totally fulfilled during the normal working hours. Accordingly, you get to continue working and following-up with the students at home. 6. Tight, sudden and exhausting deadlines which make work too stressful and unbearable at times. 7. We do not get a copy of the contract even after years of employment for no clear reasons. 8. No flexibility. 9. Strict working hours and you should be present on-campus 5 days per week even if there is absolutely no work to be done. 10. Sick leaves are not easily accepted/ may just be declined without further inquiry, with salary deduction, as if people are not supposed to get sick!! 11. No clear job description. Academic staff are involved in too many secretarial issues. 12. The university shows off a lot merely for attention and more student admissions which is all just a SUGARCOAT. 13. The admission/ HR offices are perfectly designed, equipped and ventilated, whereas; academic staff offices (especially those for the teaching assistants) are as small as tuna cans and are not clean! People are all jammed up in small rooms (10-12/ room) with bad ventilation, insects everywhere and poor WIFI connection. Their offices are poorly equipped with one or 2 computers ONLY to work on and they are mostly not working. Also, printers are not always working and staff have a limited amount of paper consumption/ month. 14. The only thing that makes a student eligible to apply and be accepted is being able to pay and fill their pockets.. Many students are not competent enough with poor academic performance, bad behavior and VERY BAD ENGLISH. I have no idea how they get to pass the English Placement Test when they cannot even understand the basic English vocab and complain when they are taught in English. 15. Most of the students graduate with poor/ no presentation skills. 16. Poor overall management.

Pros

Social workplace All rooms are air conditioned Bathrooms are usually cleaned properly (although a funny but minor issue is that there is a known theme about how the toilet paper is hilariously bad)

Cons

- Extremely high working hours and exploitation of employees. - Pays extremely low salaries and expects high-end work quality. - Extremely toxic HR and management departments. - Illegal work practices. - Horrible and reckless transportation drivers. - Always forced to engage in exhausting extra-curricular tasks. - Extremely overpriced cafeterias and restaurants (restaurants say that they pay too much rent so they have to be that expensive) 60-70% of my salary is gone just so I can afford a small salad and coffee everyday. - Zero tolerance in attendance excuses and mind-boggling punch-in and out rules. - Salaries are usually paid late (usually 1 or 2 months late), but don't worry the salary is too low so you'll be starving anyway even if you got paid on time. I'll be leaving MSA very soon for a workplace that doesn't see their employees as underpaid slaves. It's funny how much they ask for tuition fees compared to how much they pay their staff members.

Pros

None at all run with your life. It is a black hole once you sucked in no way to have away out.

Cons

Very very low salary Over tasks Unfair task distribution Management has no vision They donot know what they want They love showing off Unhealthy environment Bus drivers most of them doesn’t respect the academic staff unless you pay them monthly tips The offices are disgened perfectly to the regular employees . The academic rooms are like a Salomon can. And so many things Can’t imagine that the raise doesn’t follow the prices increases by the government And if they call us for work in the public holidays they donot automatically compensate. You must go beg for it.
