Pros

Your team members are incredibly hard working, kind, and a pleasure to work with. The group dynamic which is fostered at my Muji store has been amazing and I am grateful to have worked with them. Customers are generally more calm and polite than in others store, which is a reflection of the calm environment of the store.

Cons

Management is atrocious. They criticise you for every tiny thing you do wrong, which 9 times out of 10 is due to THEIR POOR COMMUNICATION. They never thank you, or show appreciation of any kind for all the very hard work which our team does in store. The store workers are what keeps Muji going, NOT THE MANAGEMENT. Management is rude, condescending, homophobic, conservative and all-round toxic. Furthermore, they will get rid of staff at a moments notice for no reason at all. During my time at Muji, I have seen great workers fired due to management's poor financial planning. They will just kick you to the curb without a shred of compassion. I have seen workers alienated and neglected to the point where they just leave themselves due to the horrible treatment from management. No real chance for upward mobility. Muji has lots of people with degrees in Finance and Accounting and a range of other areas still stuck on the floor serving customers. Absolutely ridiculous.

Pros

- Wonderful and supportive team member!! - Learnt a lot about customer focused strategies,

Cons

- If they don't like you and instead of fixing the issue, they will dump and cut you off COMPLETELY with NO NOTICE!!! - Manager makes little to no effort contacting or communicate to you if they don't like you. This leads to poor communication between the manager and the worker which the worker gets the blame for miscommunication even-though one have made an effort in calling and e-mailing the manager multiple times. Very unclear and unprofessional. - VERY POOR ROASTER PUBLISHING. A week worth of roaster comes out 3 days prior the new week. Previously, a month worth of roaster came prior to the new month. Due to this, casuals cannot schedule anything for personal purposes. Promotes lack of work-life balance. - Demands very high expectation and availability from the casual workers. Personal concerns/priorities does not matter to your availability to them. - Lack of empathy from the manager.

Pros

Good product, nice team, nice location, nice customers.

Cons

Lack of stock, rigid and conservative top management, unrealistic tasks, high amount of work versus low pay. No incentives, no praise. Intranet system doesn't work properly, lack of career progression. Head quarters comes around just criticising staff and not recognising what we have been doing for the company.
