Basic company, no growth opportunities

Pros

Good team and nice people, good location for me. Decent offices

Cons

Nowhere to go after a certain point, their approach to search is pretty basic and they don't have much progression available. Also salaries are now way too low, considering what's out there for fully remote roles

Pros

Good starting salary - there are opportunities for this to increase as you progress. The size of the company means there are more opportunities to advance. Company perks / bonus schemes - quarterly socials are well organised and put together. Office location is ideal - right near the centre of town.

Cons

Any problems that I had weren't taken seriously and were dismissed by management. Things they said were not honored and were just saying things with no intention to carry those actions out. Poor working environment - lack of cohesion amongst employees and thrives based on competition only. If you're not the best, you're not good enough for them. Lack of growth opportunities - I mentioned my goals and I was given a generic answer and those opportunities weren't ever given to me. Office equipment was falling apart and wasn't replaced. Poor communication - passive aggressive, not being direct. Feedback given wasn't constructive and was hyper critical(things that weren't true were said and this made me very angry). I addressed this with the person who gave me the feedback and they couldn't care one bit on what I had to say and the conversation was a waste of time. I asked for further detail on positive aspects but this wasn't expanded upon. Saying something that is good without further explanation is poor quality feedback. Undervalued by the company. I was eventually ostracized and this led to immense job dissatisfaction and increased stress. Some meetings weren't productive and wasted time leading to much less time over the week to get client work done.
