It's WHO you know, NOT what you know

Pros

Because it's a small hospital, many many wonderful friends.

Cons

Unless you're rubbing elbows with the right people or related to the right families, you will NOT advance your career! Supervisors and directors have LESS experience than staff. Because this hospital is not affiliated with any corporation or union, they make up the rules, cover-up for their favorites, whatever needs to be done for their convenience. Also, very low salaries! Lowest paid staff in the valley.

Good Employees, Terrible Administration

Pros

Your coworkers become close friends, it's small and you can remember everyone's names. People are very nice and you do become like family. Team work is very effective here.

Cons

Worst administration ever because they have created a very nepotistic and incestuous culture. If you're related to or suck up to the right people you can advance in your position. The admin goes above and beyond to create/sign off on jobs their their families and friends but refuse to get updated equipment or pay fair wages. They will bend the rules for you if you're family/friend, and penalize others. Plus they keep giving privileges back to the same doctor they suspend. The administration turns a blind eye to the high turn over rates, the negative environment, the need for updated equipment, salary increases because they don't really care about this hospital. They make promises they don't intend to keep. The board members also own businesses that are exclusively contracted to provide services for the hospital, thus making them money. The benefits are terrible. Retirement is self supported, pay is atrocious and you get a yearly 1% increase to your salary when inflation is 3%. The CT machine breaks down pretty often. There's no MRI, no Cath Lab. Some doctors will admit patients whose needs require a service line we DON'T provide, we spend our resources having to transfer them out. Most of the private doctors are out of date on their clinical practices. There is no wound nurse and many patients come with wounds. RNs won't get compensated if they were train in PICC/Wound care. People come here to get their one year experience but it's not worth it. The MCH internal culture reeks of greed, manipulation and opportunistic parasites seeking to take advantage of hard working people. Whoever rates this organization higher than 2 is either delusional or have strong family ties to MCH.

Sorry Hospital

Pros

There are seriously no pros about this hospital... They hire nothing but idiots who don't know to do their jobs properly... Which is sad for the patients who come in for real help. How frustrating to go to a hospital and not have a single Dr know what's wrong with you.

Cons

You have to work with ppl who think they know it all and are snobby and most of the time u catch the employees standing around chit chatting instead of doing their job...
